Re: Proposed Installation of a Barrier-Free Access Lift
432 Lafayette Street – 432 Lafayette Street Building, Individual Landmark, NoHo Historic District, LPC-25-09295
Dear Chair Carroll:
Regarding the proposed installation of a new barrier-free access lift at the subject property, Lower East Side Preservation Initiative — LESPI — has no objection to the design as shown, assuming it meets the needs for the building’s accessibility, and further accessibility-related modifications to the facade will not be required in the future.
We believe that the work will have minimal impact on the building’s historic fabric, is essentially reversible, and is finished to visually blend-in as much as possible with the facade masonry.
Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Richard Moses
President
Cc: Deborah Wye, LESPI
